We will be running a three day Gold Practice expedition between Grandtully to the Sma’ Glen in Perthshire on:
- 4-6 June 2021; and
- 17-19 September 2021

The expedition begins in the small village of Grandtully in Strathtay. Meet up time is 10am. From there the route goes west to Aberfeldy then south up a pretty wooded valley called the Birks o’Aberfeldy. Beyond that the route turns south west to a wild camp by the Urlar Burn. On day two the route goes south west to a minor road, then south east to Glen Quaich then south west to another wild camp by Lochan a’Mhuilinn. Day three goes south west to Glen Almond then south east to the main road (A822) by the Sma’ Glen. The expedition will end at 2pm. There is about 12-17km on a mixture of minor roads, cycleways, tracks and paths.
Training on navigation skills, campcraft, route planning and team work will be provided by instructors.
Participants should arrange to be dropped off at the start point and picked up at the end.
What to bring

Participants should bring the following food:
- Enough food for the 3 day practice expedition: that’s two breakfasts; three lunches and two evening meals.
The total cost of the expedition week is £150 per participant.
