What’s involved

The expedition begins at Dunkeld and Birnam Train station. Participants have the option of either making their own way to the start or arranging a lift in our minibus from Glasgow, Stirling and Perth.

The expedition goes from Dunkeld to Blair Atholl with three nights of wild camping. The expedition will finish at Blair Atholl Train Station and participants are free to make their own way home from Blair Atholl or catch a train back to Dunkeld and Birnam Train Station where minibus transport will be available back to Perth, Stirling and Glasgow.

With support from us you will plan a detailed route with your team, each day of the expedition is likely to involve around 15km of walking on tracks and footpaths, some of which will be muddy.

Information about the area

Perthshire and in particular the countryside to the north of Dunkeld is great for walking. The countryside consists of rolling hills with woodland, heather moorland and lochs. The area has lots of big estates and farms where hill-sheep farming, fishing and shooting are important activities.
